pete g., hollister, ca 2/24/2012I kept hearing about this place...and finally took the trip down to Moss Landing. Started off with a couple of bloody beers, awesome! The wait wasn't too bad, even though it was packed. I'll tell ya, no exaggeration, it was well worth the wait. What I ordered blew my mind. It was realllllllly good, it was some kind of tamale wrapped in a banana leaf, anyway, amazing. If you like Mexican food, and or seafood, you definitely gotta make a trip!
Jeni D., Lompoc, Ca, 2/4/2012OMG.The only thing hubby and I regretted was that we found this place a week before our year stay in the Monterey Bay area...:( OH SO YUMMY and being a hispanic myself and having eaten plenty of mexican food, I'd say in restaurants locally in Mexican, this was in the top 2 I've been to! It's a beautiful little place too!
Phil N., McMinnville, or, 2/16/2012Quite remarkable.Wouldn't know it from the outside or location but this is the real deal. Great service, excellent Preparation and great presentation! Reasonable prices for the quality. Worth a drive. (Don't go to the over rated other place in Moss Landining--Phil's, it is a waste). I had the veggie enchilada w mole sauce as good as any I've had in Oxaca. My wife had the Tostada, everything Fresh and tasty. She even raved about the Flan(imagine).
Sandra C., San Jose, Ca, 2/13/2012Beautiful atmosphere & location. A bit on the pricey side but nice for a special occasion. Sauces are delish & homemade salsa & chips were good too. Nice bar area with good drinks adorned with plastic mermaids ... CUTE!
Owner came by to check on us which I appreciate .. some one who truly cares about their customers and business. Their outdoor seating area is very nice as well. Good choice for a date.
I would definetely order off of the special menu & stick to seafood & maybe the fried artichokes. Something speciality, otherwise you may leave feeling disappointed if you opt for a standard taco which you could get many places for a lot cheaper.
Crab Enchiladas were really good. Dad liked his prawns, and Aly loved her salmon (they both came with the same creamy cilantro sauce, which I tried & was amazing! Brother had a tamale with adobo sauce in a banana leaf ... not traditional mexican but definetely delicious.
My Mom is a die hard fan & we enjoyed it so safe to say ... we'll be back!

8/22/2011I definitely love the Whole enchilada! I was skeptical at first pulling up into the parking lot, but as we entered the restaurant the atmosphere changed, and I was suddenly in another place.
The staff is nice and friendly and the food was excellent. The complimentary chips and salsa was delicious as well. The owner from time to time will walk around greeting people and making small talk, and will hand whoever is handling the bill a lottery ticket. Average plate was about $14.
Tanja F., san jose, ca 12/3/2011This place is just plain magical for me! Our adventure started with being sat by a very nice server. She brought our drinks right away, kept them full at all times and made us feel incredibly welcome. The decor was festive and the music was fun.
Their coffee was like Christmas exploded in my mouth. Our server was nice enough to share that their trick was to add cinnamon to the grounds before brewing. The food was just WOW! We ordered off of the special menu this crab enchilada with a lobster cream sauce. I can truly say that it was the best tasting thing that my mouth has ever encountered. We concluded our meal by sharing a dessert off of the special menu as well. It was churros in vanilla ice cream, covered in caramel. I think I'm going to dream about that tonight!
I think I now have a new favorite place to visit. I recommend this place with two strong thumbs up!
